Freewheelin Farmers ArtRides August 5 & 6Posted: July 30, 2011
We struggled with what to call it but we finally settled on “Freewheelin Farmers” and Zanna made us this crazy flyer to pass out at our July 1 Flower Power ArtRide.
The obvious way to dress up is as farmers with flowers and vegetables in our baskets, panniers, and trailers.
But really, the bounty of our county goes beyond that.
We “farm” all kinds of things around here, including ART!
The San Buenaventura ArtRiders Bicycle and Social Club invites you to bring “The Bounty of the County” along for the next ArtRide, Freewheelin Farmers next Friday August 5 and to the Ventura County Fair Parade Saturday August 6.
Here are the details:ArtRides meet at 5:30pm along the Ventura Beach Promenade by the Artists Union Gallery 330 So California Street Ventura, CA 93001. We take photos and ride at 6pm, usually to the Artists Union! Then we’ll take the newly opened promenade along the ocean beside the Fairgrounds and along the River Trail to Main. Not sure where all we’ll go from there yet; I’ll try to post details next week.
I do know that we’ll be heading to the Fair grounds by 8pm–Pat Benatar is playing! If you don’t want to do that, just go to the Anacapa Brew Pub and join up with us at 950pm by the barricade to watch the fireworks go off!
Everyone is also welcome to be in The Fair Parade. We’re number 65 and we’ll be in the first group. I’ll post later exactly where but try to be there by 930am.
After the ride, we’ll roll to the fairgrounds to hear Dj Jeremy spin! Bring a picnic!
Rides are free and family friendly; bring your own mug and money. Children under 8 need helmets and to be on a trailer.
