So if you want to see one, we might just swing through your town if you’re in one of the western states we’ll be traveling through: Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah!

June 4 FFArtRide Theme Announced: GET LEI’D!

Since each ArtRide has a theme, someone has to come up with it and get a flyer made. That task typically lands on shoulders of bikergogal.
Last June we did a summer solstice Santacon which was an absolute blast. We had 50 Santas cruising Main then at an after party at Bell Arts where a live band played Christmas carols and other standards which got us rocking when we stopped rolling.
I was inclined to repeat that theme but others encouraged us to find something fresh.
Which is how Helen and I came up with
GET LEI’D!
as the theme for the June First Friday ArtRide June 4.
So get out your Grass Skirts & Tropical Shirts!

ArtWalk ArtRide & Steampunk Fashion Show Fun & Photos

A Steampunk ArtWalk ArtRide and a Steampunk Fashion Show hit Ventura during Sunday ArtWalk April 18. About 15 riders rolled through the west side during the course of the ride, cruisine around on the promenade and the river bike path, up Oilve to see hot glass being blown as well as hear music and check out a new metal working studio where we found Steampunk photos on display.
Our third stop was at a clay studio, 1317 Ventura Avenue where frequent ArtRider Rachel Morris performed. Then we cruised down the Avenue to the WAV before we cruised up and down Main Street. About 345pm, we turned back up Ventura Avenue to Bell Arts for the Steampunk Fashion Show.
Our entertainment there included a “Time Traveler” from 1910, my great grandmother Anna Paqu
ette (Suzanne Lawrence). Tracy Hudak spoke about Bell Arts and we had a fabulous fashion show!
The event concluded with formal photos being taken in a photo booth.
Next month, please join us for a Boogie Nights FFArtRide May 7. Bring your bike to the promenade where California Street meets the sea; we ride by 6pm.
